A farmer was trampled to death by a cow in front of his daughter as the pair put identity tags on their calves.
John Ward was working with his 21-year-old daughter Katie at their Derbyshire farm when the accident happened on Wednesday afternoon.
Mr Ward, 67, was thrown in the air by a bull before a cow, whose calf was being tagged, began stamping on him.
The farmer was pronounced dead at the scene in Geer Lane, Ridgeway, police said. Derbyshire Police was alerted by the ambulance service and have begun an inquiry, a police spokeswoman said. The Health and Safety Executive has been notified of the incident.
