Alarm Receiving Centre
Overview
If your lone workers operate outside of normal business hours and afterthe local support finishes for the day, then an ARC can form a vital component of your lone worker monitoring solution managing any incidents on your behalf. Your lone workers expect and deserve a comprehensive response service that offers vital reassurance and confidence during an incident. However, if your lone worker policy requires a guaranteed police response, then your ARC service must comply with both BS8484 and BS5979 CatII.
The Argyll ARC
ARC’s may act under sub-contract relationships with a lone worker service provider. This could mean that your personal data will be spread across two or more sites. It also means that the ARC may share operations staff, normally used to monitor fire and intruder systems, alongside lone worker tasks. By contrast Argyll has no subcontract relationships and has invested £1.5m into a purpose built ARC that is integral to the service delivery and specifically designed to meet both current and future industry standards. It is specifically dedicated to monitoring vulnerable individuals at risk.
The purpose designed ARC (pictured above) is a high security facility, staffed around-the-clock by a team of highly trained personnel vetted in accordance with the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 and BS7858. These high integrity personnel are dedicated to delivering your lone worker service.
Our unique recruitment and training process means that our operators are also capable of providing comprehensive front-line support services offering advice and support for service queries, device failures, mobile network and sim card issues. They provide access to technical support, even providing end-user training if appropriate and they can do this at 3am on a Sunday morning if necessary.
This expert approach allows Argyll to:
- Allocate a team of trained operators dedicated to managing your lone workers
- Provide continuous support in managing their day-to-day risk levels
- Take immediate action in the event of any incident or emergency
- Resolve the majority of end user issues at the first point of contact.
This dedicated approach enables Argyll to provide our clients with valuable feedback that helps to refine lone-worker policy.
Our quality standards don’t stop at our people. The ARC has achieved the coveted Secured by Design standard, a police preferred specification. The business processes are audited to ISO9001:2008. The code of practice BS 8484 (for lone worker devices and services) plus BS 5979 Cat.II (required in order to obtain a police response) that assess the viability of our organisation, the construction of the building, its resilience in handling alarm signals, alarm filtering processes, minimising false alarms, and confirmation techniques, among others are also adopted. All of our standards are independently verified by the SSAIB.
