Lone Worker Support
What is a Lone Worker?
A Lone Worker is classed as someone who works by themselves without direct supervision. They can be found in a wide range of environments and may be based at a fixed base or they may be mobile, working within the community or environment.
Lone Workers within a fixed establishment may work alone in a shop, petrol station or workshop. They may work from home or work separately from others, perhaps in a warehouse or within a research establishment or, they may be individuals working outwith normal hours such as cleaners, security or repair staff.
Mobile workers may be involved in construction, repair work or vehicle recovery. They may be working within the forestry or agriculture industry or they may be service workers such as home helps, district and community nurses or postal staff. All of which face specific risks within their own industry.
